Rose Geranium Essential Oil

Scented pelargonium leaves release essential oils from glands that are activated when rubbed, resulting in aromas ranging from rose to nutmeg and even coconut.

Rose geranium essential oil is produced from the plant Pelargonium graveolens in South Africa, China, Egypt, India, and Madagascar. It is a pelargonium that belongs to the geranium family (Geraniaceae).

Pelargonium plants readily cross; their oil components, quality, and quantity change depending on the soil composition and where they are grown. The word graveolens means ‘heavily scented’ which refers to the aromatic leaves.

The essential oil is distilled from the leaves which can have a rose, citrus scent. The oil can be used as a hormone neutralizer, a treatment for inflammation on the skin and to balance complexions. It helps relieve anxiety and depression along with balancing behavior.
