Propagate Pelargonium Stem Cuttings
Plant propagation is a process by which gardeners can create new plants identical to the parent plant using stem cuttings and a seedling mix, consisting of peat moss, perlite and calcium silicate.
First, fill a small pot with moist soilless potting mix. Next, take a healthy cutting from the parent plant, ensuring it has at least three leaf stems. If there are any leaves close to the base of the main stem, remove them and let the stem dry out for an hour to reduce rot.
Make a small hole in the potting mix and gently bury the stem cutting. Water it well to settle the mix around the stem. Place the potted cutting in a warm room, ideally with temperatures ranging from 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Rooting will begin within three to four weeks when there are signs of new buds and leaf growth.
