Scented Leaf Flower Potpourri

Potpourri with scented pelargonium leaves is a way to fill your home with fragrances.

My scented pelargoniums are in 4-inch pots, so they do not have as many leaves to harvest as they would if planted in larger pots or in the ground. But when I take cuttings from the plants to propagate there are extra leaves I remove from the stem. These leaves are dried to use in a potpourri.

Throughout the spring and summer, I pick and dry flowers which I combine with the dried pelargonium leaves to create potpourri blends.

Potpourri can be displayed in a bowl on a shelf for a faint fragrance in a room or simmered on the stove in water for a stronger scent. When it is no longer viable, it goes back into the garden.
